Substitute Teaching PositionsSchool Year 2011-2012 substitute applications for Loudon County Schools will be distributed August 16, 2011 thru March 30, 2012. Applications are available and must be picked up at any school in the system. A school principal must recommend the applicant for a substitute teacher position. After completing the substitute packet prospective employees need to call Pam Hamilton to make an appointment to return the packet to Central Office. Appointments are made Monday and Wednesday between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00 during the month of August. September thru March appointments are made on Wednesday between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00.
Substitute applicants are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Substitute applicants are required to be fingerprinted by the Loudon County Board of Education at a cost of $48.00 (subject to change without notice). We do not accept fingerprint results from other Tennessee School Systems or other agencies.
Applicants will be added to the substitute list after the Director of Schools approves the TBI/FBI fingerprint results, DCS background checks and all paperwork must be completed and turned into Central Office.
Certified substitute teachers must have copy of their current valid Tennessee Teacher License on file at Central Office.
Non-certified substitutes - $51.00/day
Certified substitutes - $60.00/day
Custodian substitutes - $7.25/hr

Checks may be picked up from Pam Hamilton at Central Office between the hours of 8:30 – 12:00. All checks not picked up by 12:00 will be mailed. Checks will not be ready for pick up any earlier than the date listed below.

Per the Loudon County Finance Department, if a check is lost or not received in the mail:
The Loudon County Finance Department requests you cash all checks as soon as possible.
If you have worked days and were not paid for them please call the school where you worked and speak with the secretary to make sure it has been turned into Central Office. Unpaid days will be paid on the 30th of the following month. Central Accounting will not be asked to run an additional payroll for unpaid days.
Substitutes may be removed from any school listing by the principal or the Director of Schools. Any substitute that does not work during School Year 2011-2012 will automatically be removed from the substitute list for the next school year. In order to be placed back on the substitute listing a school principal will need to recommend you, a new application packet will need to be filled out and be re-fingerprinted at your expense.
